Moses Drops the Hammer on Mallet

Quarterback benched, but not cut

When Ty Moses first took the job as head coach of the Houston Texans, he said that change was in order.  That change has begun. Moses reported first words to quarterback Ryan Mallet were “Hey man, just wanted you to know that you won’t be taking anymore snaps.”  When asked if he would release the QB, Moses responded “No. At least not now. If we cut him today that would be $6 million dollars we’d have to pay out to him. That’s too much money to give someone for throwing 25 interceptions through 11 games.”  Moses went on to say that they would use the quarterback as much as possible, just not in the games as a quarterback. “I think Ryan showed us what he can do. Either he is just really bad, or he likes the other guys players better than ours.”

Among Mallet’s current duties are fetching water for players during practice, holding the clipboard and saying positive and encouraging words on the sidelines. He also helps the defensive backs work on their interception skills in practice.
